Prince George County, Maryland: Home Remodel – Custom ‘Wainscoting’ Carpentry & Wood Work

With a long standing history in finishing carpentry and working with wood, wainscoting is a client favorite when adding detail to any wall.

Broken down to its roots, wainscoting is the process of building trim boxes on the wall to ad detail to the chosen space, and then painted to match the trim or wall colour of the room. This process has a variety of ways to be completed, none of which being any more common than the other these days. When constructing wainscoting it can be at any height in the room, in the past it has historically been in the 30 to 40 inch range, backed with a thin wood product and trimmed out to complete the detail. More commonly now, wainscoting boxes are built right on the drywall with no backing and painted one color, usually to match the trim.
